GENERAL MEMBER’S MEETING

June 14, 2005

President Nancy Acevedo called the meeting to order at 11:05 and asked Distinguished Veteran Jim Foley to lead the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance.

MINUTES

Minutes of the May 10, 2005 meeting were approved as submitted.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Sylvia Tatum reported on May 2005 - Balance on May 1 = $2,866.02. Income for May $1,290.04, expenditures $1,086.28. Ending Balance on May 31, 2005 = $3,069.78. Reserve Accounts totaled $10,335.96. Grand Total = $13,405.74.

NEW MEMBER AND FIRST TIMERS

Several new members and first timers introduced themselves. Nancy welcomed them to the meeting.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Ruthann Hageman spoke about a special Mayoral forum the Association is sponsoring. It will be June 29^th, 9:30 – 11:30 at the War Memorial Building. All are invited to attend.

Joe Flynn – Retirement board report. The Board has not waived the attorney/client privilege as of yet. Joe has been appointed Chair of the Health Advisory Committee. Their meeting will be this Friday at 8:30 a.m. This Committee meets quarterly.

Joe said we have an excellent Retirement Board. The new members are very qualified and hard working. Joe invited all to attend the meetings. There is a public comment portion at the beginning of the meeting, which you can speak for 3 mins. The Retirement Board meets the 3^rd Friday of each month at SDCERS, 401 B St., 3^rd floor of the Wells Fargo Bldg. Parking is underground at the building and the Retirement Office will give stickers for your parking.

Virginia Silverman – Advisory Committee, passed out copies of the NEWSFLASH newsletter.

OTHER BUSINESS

Nancy asked for a volunteer to backup Ruthann on the newsletter. Please let her know if anyone is interested in helping.

STATUS OF RETIREMENT FUND

Total of the funds are $3.632 billion, up $62 million from last month.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
