REA PENDING PROGRAMS – JUNE THROUGH DECEMBER

Retirees, please pay particular attention to meeting locations and time of day. An early reservation request is in place for next year which will allow us to conduct all of our meetings in the ballroom at the Balboa Park Club. For the remainder of this year, we need to take what is available, thus all the moving around. Thanks for your patience.

June 15 There is no REA general meeting this month. SDCERS Help Day for annual health plan open enrollment period. There is no REA general meeting this month.

10AM-12 Noon at the Balboa Park Club Ballroom.
July 13 Ruben Navarrettte, syndicated columnist and member of Union Tribune editorial board. Mr. Navarrette will speak on the immigration issue which is coming back into national focus and could be the next major issue to be tackled by the congress.

General meeting at 11AM. Program at 11:30AM. Luncheon at 12 Noon.
August 10 Paul Greenwood, DA’s Office Elder issues. Police Pistol Range - Summer picnic, time and other details to follow.
Sept. 14 City Council Candidate Forum Featuring the 4 runoff candidates for City Council vacancies in Districts 6 & 8. The primary election on June 8 will narrow the field down to 4. The focus will be the candidates’s views on pension benefits, including health care for retired employees.

Balboa Park Club Ballroom
General meeting at 10AM. Program at 10:30AM. Continental breakfast of fresh fruit bowl, juice, various pastries, bagels, muffins and coffee beginning at 9AM.
Oct. 12 SDCERS (TBA) Working with Cynthia Queen of SDCERS regarding a State of the System program including projections for Corbett and 13th check as well as COLA adjustment. Details to follow.
